LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) – Louisville native Adam Duvall went hitless in his first ever MLB All-Star game appearance.

The former Butler Bear and Louisville Cardinal went 0-1 with a walk as the National League lost to the American League 4-2 Tuesday evening from Petco Park in San Diego, California.

Duvall wasn’t the only Red to finish the game hitless. Cincinnati right fielder Jay Bruce went 0-2 with two strike outs.

By winning the All-Star Game, the American League will have home field advantage in the 2016 World Series.

Eric Hosmer became the first member of the Royals since Bo Jackson in 1989 to win the All-Star MVP Award. He had one homer and 2 RBI, going 2-3 from the plate.
