Authorities release name of woman who died after Tuesday night shooting
Authorities have released the name of a victim who died after a shooting that happened Tuesday night.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Authorities have released the name of a woman who died after a shooting that happened Tuesday night.
The victim was 26-year-old Ashley Spriggs, according to Deputy Coroner Jack Arnold. The cause of death was a single gunshot wound to the head, according to Arnold.
Authorities say the shooting happened on West Muhammad Ali Boulevard, near South 23rd Street, in the Russell neighborhood around 9 p.m.
Arnold confirms that someone "dumped" Spriggs at the ER at Norton Hospital downtown after the shooting. She was then taken to University of Louisville Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 1:45 a.m. Wednesday.
