LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) – Former Kentucky Wildcats Tyler Ulis and Jamal Murray faced off in a thriller of a game…even if it was just an NBA Summer League quarterfinal.
Ulis hit a buzzer-beating three to give his Phoenix Suns an 82-81 win over Murray's Denver Nuggets in Las Vegas Saturday night.
With time running out, Murray drove to the bucket, was stripped by Ulis, recovered the ball and hit the basket with less than 2 seconds remaining.
Out of a time out, Ulis hit the game winner, finishing with 19 points.
Murray scored a game-high 29 and pulled down seven rebounds in the loss.
Former Indiana Hoosier Troy Williams had a team-high 22 for the Suns. Former U of L Cardinal Kyle Kuric chipped in 11 points for Phoenix.
