Jane Austen Festival celebrates 200th anniversary of novel at Locust Grove

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The famous author of Pride and Prejudice was celebrated this weekend in Louisville at the largest Jane Austen Event in North America.

The Jane Austen Festival this year celebrated the 200th anniversary of the book "Emma."

In fact, the movie "Clueless" is loosely based off that novel.

The festival is meant to bring you back to the time of Jane Austen with Regency shows, clothing and workshops.

"We have it here at Locust Grove because it's a real 1790's Georgian Farm and so we like to pretend we're back in merry old England," said the festival's founder, Bonny Wise.

This was the 8th year for the Jane Austen Festival.
