LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police have arrested a man accused of leaving his 4-year-old son alone inside a vehicle in the middle of the night.

Curtis Robertson, 29, was arrested Saturday in the area of South 7th Street and Industry Road, according to police records. According to the arrest report, the incident happened shortly before 4 a.m.

Police say an officer traveling south on South 7th Street saw a vehicle "sitting in the middle of South 7th Street in the left lane with the flashers on."

According to police, the officer found only a child sleeping in the rear passenger seat of the vehicle. Police also say the child was not in a car seat. Authorities say the child identified Robertson as his father and said that Robertson had been driving the vehicle.

The official police report says Robertson was found at the Thorntons gas station at South 7th Street and Algonquin Parkway putting gas into a container.

Robertson is charged with wanton endangerment and endangering the welfare of a minor.
