LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The West Louisville Urban Coalition is working to bridge the gap between the police and the community.

At a meeting Monday night, community members stressed "all lives matter."

And in an effort to protect "blue lives," LMPD is requiring officers to ride in pairs.

"What happened in Dallas, what happened in Baton Rouge, unfortunately could happen in any community," LMPD chief Steve Conrad said. "And we want the men and women doing this job to feel comfortable doing their jobs."

The new policy will be evaluated each week.
