LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- NASCAR champion Jeff Gordon is coming out of retirement for two races.

Gordon is replacing Dale Earnhardt Jr., who's suffering from a possible concussion, at Indianapolis and Pocono.

Hendrick Motorsports says Earnhardt hasn't been cleared by doctors to drive.

He missed last weekend's race in New Hampshire and was replaced by Alex Bowman.

Since retiring at the end of last season, Gordon has served as a commentator for Fox Sports.
