LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) – It looks like Homer Bailey’s time with the Louisville Bats is running out.
The Reds hope to have their right-hander rejoin the team by the end of the month. Cincinnati has an opening for Bailey to pitch on July 26th but manager Bryan Price said Bailey’s return depends on how he does in his last outings with Louisville.
Bailey made his fifth rehab start for the Bats Wednesday, picking his first win as the Bats defeated IL West leading Columbus 7-5 at Huntington Park.
Bailey went 5.1 innings. He gave up 5 runs on six hits. He did give up 3 home runs.
The Louisville win moves the Bats to within 3 and a half of first place in the division.
