Man escapes police by jumping in Ohio River

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man runs from police, jumps in the Ohio River, and gets away from police.

MetroSafe confirms officers were talking to a man around 2:30 Friday morning in the area of 16th and Northwestern Parkway. Officials say the man suddenly ran off and jumped into the Ohio River.

The River Rescue Unit was called to help get the man out of the river but they couldn't find him. Officers knew that man was back on land so they called off the search, according to MetroSafe.

It's unclear what police were talking to the man about when he ran off.
