LACETT | Bats drop to six and a half games out of first

LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) – The Louisville Bats quest to win the IL West took a hit this weekend.

On Sunday at Slugger Field, Louisville fell to Lehigh Valley 5-1, dropping the Bats to six and a half games out of first place behind the Columbus Clippers.

Louisville dropped three out of the four games in the series.

Left-ander Amir Garret (2-2) picked off the loss. He gave 2 runs on three hits, all coming in the first inning. Garrett pitched six innings.

Scott Schebler was responsible for the Bat’s lone run, hitting his 12th home run of the season in the 8th. Sunday night’s game capped off a great series for the Bats center fielder. He had two homers, a triple, three doubles, a single and walk.

Louisville starts a three game series with Charlotte Monday.
