LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The UofL Board of Trustees has decided to postpone a 9:30 a.m. meeting to discuss the future of university president James Ramsey.

According to a news release, the meeting will be rescheduled for a later date.

The agenda at Tuesday's special meeting was to include consideration of Ramsey's offer to resign.

The agenda also included the discussion of next steps, including transition planning and the search process for the next president.

"It's not like posting a job and just getting resumes. Normally there's a special committee. It's a months-long process, said WDRB.com reporter Chris Otts. "There could be a third party consultant involved, several candidates may come and interview."

Students and staff have ideas for what they'd like to see in a new president.

"Definitely some more student interaction," said U of L senior Logan Chandler.

"I hope that the new president brings every one together," U of L employee Michelle Bush said.

Ramsey offered to resign last month amid several controversies swirling around the school, including the basketball team's escort scandal.
