Conservation officers investigating 'apparent drowning' in Lawrence County, Indiana

LAWRENCE COUNTY, In. (WDRB) -- Conservation officers are investigating an "apparent drowning" that happened in Lawrence County, Indiana.

According to a news release, the incident happened Monday around 6:15 p.m. at Kenray Lake, near Bedford, Indiana.

Just before 6:30 p.m., a 911 call was received by the Lawrence County Dispatch concerning a person who disappeared while swimming. Authorities say the the victim was 18-year-old Joshua Bradford, of Paoli, Indiana. He was swimming with three other people and went under in about 40 feet of water.

Bradford was located Tuesday morning, shortly after 1:30 a.m. with the use of sonar and a remotely operated vehicle.

An autopsy will take place on Wednesday morning at the Lawrence County Coroner's Office.
