Pokemon NO!: Japanese officials ban Pokemon at Hiroshima Memorial Park

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Japanese officials have banned Pokemon GO players from Hiroshima Memorial Park.

The park was the first atomic bomb target in World War II. Now officials are asking the provider of the popular app to remove the memorial site as a location for one of the game's gyms.

Gyms are where virtual characters battle.

The park commemorates more than 100,000 people who were killed in the nuclear attack.
