LANE | Iceman Leads the Kentucky Open
A three-hour weather delay will force the second round of the Open to be completed on Thursday morning, followed by the third and final round.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Former St. Xavier High School and U of L golfer Daniel Iceman III leads the Kentucky Open after a second round six-under 66. The Assistant Pro at Weissinger Hills Golf Course in Shelbyville is 8-under overall, good for a one-shot lead with several groups still having to finish their second rounds after a three-hour weather delay on Wednesday afternoon.
Cody Martin of Ft. Mitchell and first-round leader Patrick Newcomb of Benton are both one back. Martin had a second-round 69 and Newcomb had a one-under 71 after his opening 66.
UK Freshman-to-be Evan Cox of Ashland is alone at 5-under with some holes still to play.
Four players are at four-under: Ashton Van Horne of Georgetown (66), UK's Cooper Musselman of Louisville (72), Trey Shirley of Bowling Green (still on course), and EKU's Will Sallee of Lexington (69).
The second-round will be completed beginning Thursday at 8:00 am, followed by the third and final round after cutting to the top 70 and ties.
