City administrator for western Ky. town charged with trafficking synthetic drugs

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The city administrator of a western Kentucky town now finds himself on the wrong side of the law. 

According to a news release, Kentucky State Police began an investigation after the U.S. Postal Inspector reported suspected drug activity involving Mark Bryant, the Marion City Administrator. Detectives interviewed several people, including Bryant, and learned that Bryant was allegedly trafficking in synthetic drugs while overseeing the Crittenden County Detention Center's work release program.

Bryant is accused of selling the synthetic drugs to inmates in the work release program He is also accused of defacing shipping labels on U.S. Postal Service packages to avoid detection of drug trafficking.

Bryant is charged with three felonies: trafficking in synthetic drugs, promoting contraband, and tampering with physical evidence.
