LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police are investigating after Stepfon R. Harris, 28, was found dead in the rear parking lot of the Hampton Inn in downtown Louisville.

LMPD spokesperson Alicia Smiley says officers responded to a call of a shooting near the intersection of First and Jefferson Streets around 3:30 a.m. Saturday.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found Harris in the rear parking lot of the hotel. He was pronounced dead at the scene from multiple gunshot wounds.

Christopher 2X, with the anti-violence organization Hood 2 Hood, says Harris often volunteered and attend rallies.

“He was always funny. He was always willing to show me respect anytime he ever had interactions with me,” 2X said.

Authorities say it's not clear if the man was a guest of the Hampton Inn.

No arrests have been made and police have not given any information regarding a suspect.
