LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Hopcat in the Highlands opened this morning to a crowd of about 300 people lined up down the block.

The nearly 12,000 square foot restaurant has 132 craft beers on tap and 150 different bourbons and whiskeys.

There are also three private dining spaces including an outdoor beer garden.

"We know that Louisville loves craft beer and that's what we're here to provide so we're happy to have people in and want to maintain this momentum and make sure everyone knows we're open and ready to serve you," Madi Doolittle, event manager, said.

The restaurant also composts and recycles 90 percent of its waste.

HopCat is still looking for servers, bartenders, and other employees.

Anyone who's interested can stop by HopCat Monday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
