LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Focusing on medical and mental illnesses that are most common in the west end.

That was the goal of the West Louisville Community Festival and Health Fair Saturday at Redeemer Lutheran Church.

The community was given free access to a variety of health services, including cholesterol and blood pressure screenings, as well as HIV testing and obesity education.

"Bringing different programming just helps people to understand that they have options and they have choices and we try to connect them to be healthy," Dr. Karen Krigger said.

The festival also featured live music, games and prizes.

The first-ever event was held back in the mid-90's.
