LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Riding 40 miles on motorcycles for charity.

The Bikefest Charity Ride kicked off Saturday afternoon at Harley Davidson Louisville.

Together, everyone rode to Old River Park in New Albany for Bikefest.

Jesse James Dupree, the lead singer of Jackyl led the ride, then performed at Bikefest.

Money raised benefits St. Jude Children's Hospital.

"Man, bikers love giving back. We love giving back to the community. We always say charity is the rent we pay to live on the earth and what more fun is it ... donate money and riding motorcycles," Eric Jansson said.

This was the first year for the event.

The plan is to do it again next year.
