LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Authorities in Grayson County, Ky., are investigating after a body was found in a large truck tool box Tuesday evening, according to Kentucky State Police.

K105 FM, a radio station in Leitchfield, Ky., is reporting that it happened at around 5:30 p.m. Representatives of the Grayson County Sheriff's Office and Falls of Rough Fire Department were dispatched to Spring Fork Bridge, located near Line Hill Road and Owensboro Road.

"According to sources familiar with the investigation, a body was found inside a large tool box, either in or near Spring Fork creek," the station reported. "Someone stumbled across the body and notified Grayson County Special Deputy Cave Colston. The body, which has been confirmed as being a male, was in a state of decomposition, according to unconfirmed reports."

A Kentucky State Police spokesperson tells WDRB News an autopsy will be performed on the body. The case is currently classified as a death investigation -- but that could change, depending on the autopsy results.

"I didn't think things happen like that in rural areas but I guess it does," said Herdin Porter who lives in the area. "Nothing like this. There's been different things happen, people drown and stuff like that but no, nothing like this."
