Kentucky Opera celebrating 65th anniversary with two-day celebration

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Kentucky Opera will celebrate its 65th anniversary with a two-day celebration.

According to a news release, a public event will take place on August 5 and a private event is scheduled for August 6.

The public event, called "NuLu Hits the High Notes," is a public passport party and runs from 6 - 9 p.m.

An event passport can be bought at participating stores and restaurants in the NuLu area. During the event, guests can walk around NuLu and hear performers from the Kentucky Opera.

Guests will receive stamps on their passports at each location. The first 200 people to find the six locations will receive a free gift bag. The passports are also good for discounts at some NuLu shops and restaurants.

The private event is an exclusive, invitation only gala that will happen August 6 and run from 7 to 10 p.m. It will happen at a space next to the Green Building, located at 732 East Market.
