Inmates start fire at Henry County Detention Center
Jail officials say the inmates were not trying to escape.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Extra law enforcement officers are on hand at the Henry County Jail after inmates started a fire.
Jail officials say the inmates were not trying to escape. Instead, they were trying to get into a "daytime jail area," which is accessible through doors that operate on an air system.
The inmates apparently started the fire in order to trick the air system into opening the doors.
No one was hurt.
Officials say an arson investigation is now underway.
