Hardin County Schools begin school year with new Superintendent

Posted: Updated:

HARDIN COUNTY, Ky. (WDRB) -- Nearly 15,000 Hardin County School students head back to class Thursday.

Spokesman John Wright says the biggest change this year is a new superintendent for the first time in ten years. After 27 years with the district, Teresa Morgan started as HCS Superintendent on July 1. Nannette Johnston served as superintendent from 2006-2016. Mrs. Johnston worked 33 years for the Hardin County Schools.

Construction is underway on Cecilia Valley Elementary School.  It will replace the current Howevalley Elementary School.  Cecilia Valley will open in October 2017.
