LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Hundreds of Louisville families got a little extra help Saturday, with everything from school supplies to health screenings.

Hikes Point Christian Church hosted a free clinic from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Organizers provided free backpacks and school supplies for the kids.

There were also free tests for everything from blood pressure checks to dental care, as well as a beauty spa.

More than 200 volunteers from the church take part, and help more than 300 families each year.

"It's just a time we can go outside the walls of the church and say - we want you to come and we want you to know that there are things we are offering for you and to you because we love you just as God loves you," Associate Pastor Mark Hancer said.

The church has hosted the event for 10 years.
