LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Authorities have released a man's name and cause of death after his body was discovered in Marion County, Indiana.

According to a release from the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, the man was 46-year-old Pau K. Mang of Indianapolis. Authorities say an autopsy was completed Monday morning by the Marion County Coroner's Office. It determined that Mang's cause of death was asphyxia due to drowning.

Officials are still awaiting toxicology results.

Indiana State Police say Mang's body was recovered from the river on Saturday night. At around 10:45 p.m. Saturday, authorities say first responders were dispatched to the 3500 block of West Thompson Road in Indianapolis. The call was concerning a person who went under the water in the White River and never resurfaced.

Divers with the Indianapolis Fire Department and a diver with the Indiana State Police arrived at the scene and began to search for Mang. A diver found the victim at around 11:40 p.m. in about 15 feet of water.

A preliminary investigation showed that Mang had been fishing with others, who saw him in the water and then go under. Officials say the events leading up to Mang's being in the water are still under investigation.
