LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The day doesn't end for most students when that last bell rings.
In this School Smarts report, Keith Kaiser helps parents navigate through the YMCA Child Care Programs.
The YMCA of Greater Louisville serves more than 3500 school age children at more than 75 sites in Jefferson, Bullitt, Floyd and Clark counties.
The "Y" is the largest childcare provider in the state of Kentucky focusing on healthy activities and including nutritious meals for breakfast.
The day may consist of physical games and gym time to keep them moving.
Many school systems like Bullitt County Public Schools support childcare.
They see academic improvement as a result of before and after school programs.
