Not guilty plea entered in case of man accused of Taylor Boulevard murder

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police say he confessed to murder, but in court this morning, a plea of not guilty was entered on his behalf.

Michael Dortch faced a judge this morning, accused of killing a man whose body was found in the backyard of a home on Taylor Boulevard Friday.

Neighbors say Dortch and the victim lived in the same house and appeared to be friends.

This morning, the judge was concerned that Dortch was out on an assault charge when the murder happened, so she increased his bond to $500,000, full cash.

The coroner has not yet released the identity of the victim.
