Tougher rules take effect for e-cigarette sales

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Tougher rules for buying E-cigarettes took effect Monday.

The FDA says e-cig products made since February 2007 must go through an application process to be sold.

Vape shops are also no longer allowed to give free samples to customers or sell to anyone under the age of 18.

The new rules also apply to hand-rolled cigars, hookah and pipe tobacco.
