LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- One woman was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon after a two-and-a-half-hour SWAT situation in the Portland neighborhood came to an end.

According to MetroSafe dispatchers, police were called to 25th and Rowan shortly after 1:30 p.m.

LMPD spokeswoman Alicia Smiley said the situation started when officers from Oldham County tried to serve a warrant on a woman who was wanted on an escape charge. They called for backup when the suspect refused to come out.

We were told two people were inside the home, but police did not believe anyone was being held against their will.

Police tried to make contact with the people inside using a bullhorn, and a robot was deployed to help give a better view of the situation without endangering officers' lives.

The woman was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon and the SWAT situation ended.
