LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Park DuValle Community Health Center will hold its annual health fair this weekend.

It could be life-saving for hundreds of people in Louisville, as hundreds of people from across the city are invited to come out and get free checkups, physicals and health screenings.

Health officials believe the event has and will save lives, especially for people who don't have medical coverage.

"Every year we have people that find out they have hypertension, diabetes and just last year, we started offering colorectal cancer screenings, which is a noninvasive test, and we'll be offering that again this year free of charge," Shantelle Simpson said.

The free health fair will be held at the Park DuValle Community Health Center on Wilson Avenue in west Louisville on Saturday from 11 to 3 p.m.

There will also be free food, live music and school supplies for students.
