LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police are investigating after three juvenile females were shot.

LMPD spokesperson Alicia Smiley said First Division officers responded Sunday around 2:40 a.m., after receiving a call from someone who said they were driving a shooting victim to the hospital.

A MetroSafe dispatcher says the shooting happened in the area of 16th Street and Jefferson.

Police say the three victims were taken to Kosair Children's Hospital.

Officials say further investigation revealed that two groups had taken part in an earlier altercation at a club.

Investigators say the victims left the club and were followed by the suspects, who fired at the victims' vehicle and hit the three victims. Police say the victims were passengers in the vehicle.

Each of the victims' injuries appear to be non-life threatening, according to police.

Police have made no arrests in the case and are continuing to investigate.
