LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Christian Academy of Louisville unveiled its new state-of-the-art athletic field Monday.

The sand-fill turf maximizes performance while minimizing field temperatures better than traditional rubber.

CAL is one of only two high school in the country to have the field, according to school officials.

And they say it's a game changer.

"Three of our girls were selected for Junior Olympics, and so to practice and play on turf will really make them better (as well as ) the rest of the team," said Stanley Phulpagar, the CAL field hockey coach.

The lady Centurions took on Seneca Monday for the first game on the new field.

The football and lacrosse teams will share the field.
