LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — University of Louisville basketball coach Rick Pitino continues his big summer on the recruiting trail.

Less than two weeks ago, he received an oral commitment from Fort Wayne, Ind., forward Malik Williams, a 6-10 prospect who is a five-star player, according to the 24/7 scouting service, and a consensus four-star pick.

On Tuesday, Pitino added some backcourt punch with the commitment of Powder Springs, Ga., point guard Darius Perry, a 6-2, 160-pounder who visited Louisville on August 3. He’s a consensus four-star prospect.

Louisville coaches made Perry a priority after seeing him play in early June.

“Louisville has always been a school, I wouldn’t say dream school, but always been school that I’ve considered going to since before they were even recruiting me,” Perry told Scout.com recruiting director Evan Daniels. “It was really neck-and-neck between them and Georgia.”
