LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Pete Dye Course at French Lick will host the fourth annual LPGA Legends Championship this week. Juli Inkster got her first legends win in this event last year and she will be back to defend her title. Hall of Famer Jan Stephenson will also be back to defend her win in the Super Legends division.
"That was such a wonderful experience last year and to win again," said Stephenson. "I like being one of the Super Legends. It's a lot easier than playing against Juli Inkster and Laura Davies and Lori Kane. There's nothing better than winning. I drove up earlier and I got excited and got goosebumps because it brought back memories and there's nothing better than teeing it up on the first tee and being nervous."
The week opens with a practice round Thursday followed by a pro-am Friday. Championship rounds will be played with the 60 legends Saturday and Sunday.
The event raised $150,000 for Riley Children's Hospital last year.
