Chicago police superintendent recommends firing at least 7 officers

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Chicago's police superintendent recommended firing at least seven of the city's officers.

The announcement is in connection with the 2014 shooting death of black teenager Laquan McDonald.

Video released a year after McDonald's death showed he wasn't threatening Officer Jason Van Dyke, who allegedly shot the teen 16 times. Van Dyke is charged with murder.

The superintendent says he's accepting the recommendations of the city's inspector general, who says the officers filed false police reports.

The city's Police Board will make the final decision.
