LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville is sending more medical supplies halfway around the world.

Kentucky One Health and Supplies Over Seas have partnered to help a new hospital under construction in Haiti. A 12,000-pound shipment is on its way to Cotes-de-Fur. It includes surgery supplies, drapes, gloves and more items that will help save lives.

"We are so privileged here in America, and we are so privileged to help these people that have nothing," said Marsha Mitchell of the Louisville Market Medical Group. "These people have to come from all over Haiti to use this facility, and they have already had so many things that have happened in their country. So we feel very privileged."

The hospital will have 12 beds. The nearest health facility is about 90 miles away.
