Arrest made in murder of 22-year-old woman found in tote bag in Green River
Clark Smith, 53, of Cave City, was arrested at his home Friday. The body of Kristen Edwards, 22, was found by a fisherman in late-July.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A woman was found dismembered in a tote bag in the Green River last month, and now someone has been charged in the case.
Kentucky State Police say Clark Smith, 53, of Cave City, was arrested at his home Friday.
An arrest report claims Clark has "admitted to murdering and disposing of Kristen Edwards and her personal items."
The body of Kristen Edwards, 22, was found by a fisherman in late July. She was a mother of two.
Smith is charged with murder, tampering with physical evidence and abuse of a corpse.
"When I got my new phone he called and got it activated for me, and she was always going over there and using his computer and everything, but it's just hard for me to believe he did this to her," said Linda Pedigo, Edwards' grandmother.
