LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Prayer, praise and partnership.

Hundreds turned out to honor law enforcement officers across Louisville Friday night.

The Muslim Community Center of Louisville hosted a dinner to thank LMPD and other departments for all their hard work and sacrifice.

"We thought that this was a good way of thanking them and also building bridges and getting to know each other," said Dr. Siraj Siddiqi, who organized the event.

"A tough time for law enforcement across this country and you know we are constantly trying to serve our communities we're constantly trying to be guardians of our communities. And I think it's the rare occasion when you have people step up and say thank you for the job you do," Chief Steve Conrad said.

Chief Conrad added since the deadly police shootings in Dallas, more and more people are thanking his officers for their work.
