Two killed in Franklin County car crash Friday night
The Franklin County Coroner's Office responded to a report of car accident with injuries at on Wilkinson Street in Frankfort Friday night at 9 p.m.
FRANKFORT, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Franklin County Coroner's Office responded to a report of car accident with injuries at on Wilkinson Street in Frankfort Friday night at 9 p.m.
Officials say a Toyota was traveling southbound when it crossed the median, striking a Jeep that was traveling northbound.
The driver and passenger of the Toyota were pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver has been identified as 22-year-old Alexandria Nicole Maness, the driver of the Toyota. Maness was a resident of Nicholasville. Officials say she was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
The passenger in the Toyota has been identified as 27-year-old Steven Christopher Snow of Lawrenceburg. Officials say Snow was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
According to a release from the Coroner's Office, both airbags were deployed in the vehicle but the injuries sustained were not survivable.
Officials say speed or alcohol is not a factor at this time, but a multiple agency investigation is being conducted with the Frankfort Police Department and the Franklin County Sheriff's Office Accident Reconstruction Team.
A toxicology exam is being performed on both victims.
