LEXINGTON, Ky. (WDRB) -- The University of Kentucky Police Department has made an arrest in connection with the burglaries of campus offices where textbooks were stolen.

According to a release from UK Public Relations, 30-year-old Anthony Shields of Lexington was arrested on charges of 3rd degree burglary and possession of burglary tools. He was taken to the Fayette County Detention Center.

Officials say UKPD obtained information from Morehead State University Police, leading officers from UKPD Special Operations to contact local bookstores to identify locations that the suspect had been selling the stolen books.

Officers interviewed and arrested Shields after locating him Saturday in the act of selling stolen textbooks from Western Kentucky University at a Lexington bookstore.

The investigation is ongoing as evidence is recovered.
