Clark Memorial Hospital holds Child Safety Day

JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. (WDRB) -- From car seat safety checks, to tours of fire trucks and ambulances.

Clark Memorial Hospital held its first ever Child Safety Day on Saturday.

The focus was on providing kids with the information necessary to stay healthy and safe as the school year starts up.

Other activities included free vision screenings and bicycle and helmet safety demonstrations.

Clark Memorial already holds a similar event for adults.

"When we think of healthcare, we target the older generation or moms and dads and so it was the time to get the children involved and get them more educated in their healthcare," Bridgett Hanlon said.

The event also featured carnival games, a bicycle rodeo and free bike helmets.
