LACETT | Cards ranked 19th in preseason AP Poll

LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) – For the first time since 2013, the Louisville Cardinals will begin the new year ranked in the AP Top 25.

The Cardinals were ranked 19th in the preseason AP Poll, released Sunday.  It’s the highest ranking for a Louisville team since the end of that 2013 season.

Alabama topped the poll as the number one team. Clemson was ranked second, followed by Oklahoma, Florida State, and LSU.

Louisville will play three teams ranked in the AP Preseason Top 25 Poll. In addition to Clemson and Florida State, Houston was ranked 15th.

The Cardinals open up the season on September 1st at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium against Charlotte.
