LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A father of three found murdered in his home was remembered Tuesday by those who knew him best.

Joseph Key, 34, was found Sunday morning shot inside an apartment on Appleton Lane near Dixie Highway.

"He was a great person," said Tarish Calvin, who knew Key and organized the vigil. "He would have given him the shirt of his back. He would have gave you his plate if you were hungry. He would have gave you the last dime in his pocket."

Family and friends held a vigil Tuesday for Key. They also signed a remembrance card for the man they say often helped others.

"I just want whomever did this to know what you have done," Calvin said. "You have literally taken away from everybody, and it was senseless. So if anybody knows anything, please just say what it is. Don't be afraid. Just help us get justice for him."

If you have any information about Key's murder, you're asked to call Shively Police.
