'Massive' wave of heroin overdoses hits Cincinnati's west side

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A "massive" wave of heroin overdoses hit Cincinnati's west side Tuesday, according to FOX19, the Fox affiliate in that city.

FOX19 reports that there were at least 19 heroin overdoses in District 3 of the city, all reported between 12 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Tuesday.

Police said the overdoses are not concentrated to any specific neighborhood within the district, which covers neighborhoods such as Price Hill, Westwood and North and South Fairmount.

Authorities are looking into whether the overdoses are connected by a possibly potent batch.

No one has died.

Sgt. Stephen Wheeles with the Versailles District of Indiana State Police tweeted that officers are responding to numerous overdoes in Jennings County as well.
