Taco Bell delivers lunch to LMPD headquarters in wake of controversy

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A peace offering was brought to Louisville Metro Police officers Wednesday after some officers were apparently denied service at a local restaurant.

WDRB has confirmed that Taco Bell sent lunch to Louisville Metro Police headquarters this afternoon.

Last week, five LMPD officers stopped to eat at the Taco Bell on Preston Highway and Phillips Lane, but say one employee refused to serve them and another said, "I want to mess with them."

The restaurant says it does not tolerate discrimination and apologized, and today followed up by sending tacos to police headquarters for lunch.
