Woman dies after falling 40 feet from Delaware zipline

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A woman fell to her death from a zipline ride in Delaware.

Police say the 59-year-old fell about 40 feet from a zipline Wednesday afternoon. Paramedics took her to the hospital, where she died.

Go Ape Tree Top Adventure immediately shut down.

Previous visitors say safety procedures at the zipline course are thorough, but you have to pay attention during training.

"The staff basically takes you through how to hook up to the wires as you're going through all the obstacles," explained John Lunsford, who visited the park. "But after you get up there, it's kind of up to you to make sure you're hooked up safe."

Go Ape released a statement, saying prayers go out to the woman's family and friends.

Investigators are still trying to figure out what caused the woman to fall.
