LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- One man is dead after a double shooting Thursday afternoon in the Shelby Park neighborhood.

MetroSafe says it happened around 3:30 p.m. in the 1000 block of South Hancock Street near Kentucky and St. Catherine Streets.

Family members tells us Cameron Pugh, 18, was pronounced dead at the scene, and another man is in critical condition at University Hospital. That identity was confirmed Friday morning by the Jefferson County Coroner's Office.

The coroner's office says Pugh was pronounced dead at the scene, just after 4 p.m. He died of multiple gunshot wounds.

Three people were shot just 176 yards away Wednesday night. A 14-year-old boy died.

The grandmother of that 14-year-old boy says she heard the multiple shots fired when Thursday's shooting took place.

"Fifteen seconds later, I hear five shots and immediately my heart drops to the ground, because I think I'm going to lose another one," Arquilla Booker said.

At a peace walk just hours after the latest shooting, LMPD Chief Steve Conrad commented on the close proximity of the violence.

"It has been a real struggle, but we are going to continue our efforts to be out in the community," he said.

For now, the family of this latest victim is left with asking for some sort of peace before somebody else is gunned down

"Stop this y'all," said Joe Boddie, a family member of Thursday's victim. "I'm not begging. Y'all need to stop it. Y'all got common sense!"
