West Virginia Police rescue child found covered in his own vomit

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- West Virginia State Police troopers say they took action after they found a young child covered in vomit.

Troopers say they found the child when they pulled over a car near the state police post. They say the boy was covered in his own filth, so one of the troopers got the kid cleaned up and took care of him at the post until Child Protective Services arrived.

"As a father myself, I couldn't just let it sit in its own urine and feces and vomit, so I went ahead and drew a bath in the sink of the detachment and was able to clean him up a little bit and get him feeling a little bit better," said D.C. Graham of the West Virginia State Police.

The child's mother faces DUI charges. She was allegedly too drunk to tell police her son's name.
