MISSISSIPPI (WDRB) -- Police arrest the man accused of killing two nuns in Mississippi, one with ties to Kentucky.

Mississippi Police say Rodney Earl Sanders is charged with two counts of capital murder.

He's accused of killing Sister Paula Merrill and Sister Margaret Held on Thursday.

The two were found stabbed to death in the home they shared.

Merrill is affiliated with the Sisters of Charity of Narazeth near Bardstown.

Both women worked as nurse practitioners in one of Mississippi's poorest areas.

Fellow sisters say they pray for the person responsible for the killings.

Sister Merrill was 68.

She would have retired and lived at the Motherhouse in Kentucky.

Once her body is released from officials, she will be buried at the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth cemetery.
