LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police have arrested a Louisville man and charged him with attempted murder.

Bradley Bright, 26, was arrested Sunday on Magazine Street, after police say he allegedly assaulted a pregnant female victim and shot a second victim.

Officials say Bright and the female victim are the parents of a 2-year-old child. The female victim and the second victim are dating, according to authorities.

According to an arrest warrant, the incident occurred on Sunday. Police say Bright approached the female victim's car, which was parked outside the second victim's apartment.

Authorities say Bright allegedly pulled the female victim from the driver's side of the car and began assaulting her. Investigators say Bright "punched and pistol-whipped" the pregnant female victim in the head and face several times. Officials say the victim "is in her first trimester of pregnancy."

Investigators say the second victim got out of the passenger side of the car and intervened. At that time, the female victim ran for safety, according to the arrest report.

Police say Bright allegedly shot the second victim in the shoulder. Police also say both victims sought medical treatment separately.

The second victim was taken to U of L Hospital and underwent surgery for the gunshot wound. The female victim "sustained lacerations and facial injuries" and bruising to her arms, according to police.

Bright is also charged with first-degree assault.

He is being held at Louisville Metro Corrections on a $100,000 cash bond.
